PTI President Receives 2nd US Patent for Airborne Ultrasonic Testing of Package and Container Seals
Tuckahoe, NY (September 5, 2005) – Recently, Tony Stauffer, president of Packaging Technologies and Inspection (PTI), was awarded US Patent #6,920,793, “Systems and Apparatus for Airborne Ultrasonic Testing of Package and Container Seals”. On January 11, 2005 he was awarded US Patent #6,840,108, “Method and Apparatus for Airborne Ultrasonic Testing of Package and Container Seals”.
Heinz Wolf, general manager of inspection systems at PTI, noted “Tony’s creativity in airborne ultrasound applications research for package testing allows us to deliver innovative solutions to the industry. In fact, the core technology of our Seal-Scan™ line of testing systems is based on his groundbreaking work in this field. And with our new Seal-Sensor, we now offer high speed, airborne ultrasonic on line testing, with 100% inspection.”
PTI will be exhibiting its Seal-Scan™ technology, including the new Seal-Sensor, at PACK EXPO 2005 to be held September 26-28, 2005, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada (Booth C-2932).
For over 20 years, Stauffer has focused on developing inspection technologies that perform with a high degree of precision and reliability, and simplify testing and validation processes. He received a Masters in Business Administration from the American Graduate School of International Management in Arizona, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Ingenieurschule Biel-Bienne in Switzerland.
