PTI's Jesse Sklar will speak at the Institute of Packaging Professionals New Jersey Chapter Meeting March 23, 2010
Tuckahoe, New York (March 15, 2010) - Jesse Sklar, sales manager of PTI Inspection Systems, will present an overview of package inspection technologies at the New Jersey Chapter IoPP Meeting on Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Sklar will discuss some of the many challenges manufacturing companies face today regarding package integrity issues including the following topics:
- Understanding leak rate/defect specifications
- Compare non-destructive vs. destructive testing methods, including some traditional test methods that have had longevity in the packaging industry that are no longer reliable.
- Highlight the numerous advantages of non-destructive package inspection technologies and how they can be beneficial quality and process control tools in the food, pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
- Provide an overview of three non-destructive inspection technologies for package integrity testing, seal quality analysis and pinhole leak detection.
- The advantages and benefits of implementing a non-destructive inspection method, with focus on the issues of cost savings, test method (subjectivity vs. hard data), reliability, repeatability, sampling, increasing efficiency and environmental issues.
- Current packaging trends and recent market developments.
