PTI Unveils New User Interface for Non-Destructive Blister Inspection System
Tuckahoe, NY (April 19, 2007) – Packaging Technologies & Inspection (PTI) will exhibit the VeriPac 225/BLV inspection system for blister packaging at the Interphex Show running April 24 – 26 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, New York, NY, PTI Booth 4459.
The VeriPac 225/BLV is a non-destructive inspection system that can be used on all types of multi-cavity blister packaging. All materials, paper, foil, plastic, laminates and all surfaces whether flat, glossy, printed or non-printed can be inspected non-destructively with this technology. Oliver Stauffer, sales engineer, states “The VeriPac 225/BLV now features a new user interface with unique features tailored to multiple production line applications. Our software provides easy to use blister package ID information and enables quick changeover from one product line to the next in less than a minute. Automatic recognition software identifies the blister format immediately. This saves considerable time and decision making for operators. Plus, the user interface is available in Spanish which is an added benefit for many companies.”
The core technology of the VeriPac 225/BLV is based on the ASTM approved vacuum decay leak test method F2338-05 that was developed using PTI’s VeriPac instruments. Special vision technology is combined with this vacuum decay leak test method to identify the location of defective blister cavities. Fast test cycles provide pass/fail results and PC based data collection is network ready.
Stauffer adds, “The VeriPac 225/BLV is a robust system, specially designed to overcome many of the challenges involved with testing blister packaging that haven’t been solved with many inspection methods. This system is an excellent process control tool for both pharmaceutical and nutraceutical applications.”
