See Seal-Scan® Technology Non-Destructive Pouch Seal Quality Analysis at Pack Expo
Tuckahoe, New York (September 20, 2011) - PTI Inspection Systems will showcase the Seal-Scan® Model 525 Offline Seal Inspection System at the Pack Expo Show in Las Vegas, Nevada in the Las Vegas Convention Center, September 26-28, 2011 in Booth 2127.
PTI's Seal-Scan® technology is a non-contact airborne ultrasonic imaging system for non-destructive package seal inspection. Seal-Scan measures the actual physical properties of pouch seals, identifying weak seals and defects.
Essentially, Seal-Scan® technology has a twofold purpose, noted Oliver Stauffer, vice president of PTI inspection technologies. "First, seal verification and defect detection (delaminations, inclusions, misaligned seals, incomplete seals, insufficient seal width, and many more). Second, Seal-Scan® 525 serves as an offline analytical tool for in-depth heat seal analysis that also pinpoints optimum sealing conditions: e.g. temperature and dwell time. It generates a digital footprint of the entire seal area from left to right, top to bottom. Operators can compare seal characteristics over time, with different sealing conditions, to insure their sealing parameters are good and consistent."
Oliver adds, "Most package related product recalls are due to common in-process defects that are not reliably detected by offline or inline visual inspection methods. Seal-Scan® 525 also provides the added benefit of identifying the location and type of seal defects which assists in determining how, when and why package seals fail. PTI also offers Seal-Scan® and Seal-Sensor solutions for 100% online seal integrity inspection."
