The Team: PTI Inspection Division

This position is as a team member of PTI’s Inspection Division, which is responsible for designing and developing the most sophisticated non-destructive container closure system inspection technologies in the world. The position offers Salary, Bonuses, and an uncapped commission pool.

The Role: Business Development Manager:

PTI is looking for a high performing, dynamic technical Business Development Manager to develop and execute a commercial strategy that contributes to PTI’s short and long-term growth objectives.

The position will be responsible for, but not limited to (1) supporting the development and implementation of core business strategies, (2) Building strategic market customer relationships that lead to corporate level partnership, (3) Identify market insight and VOC to identify target markets, applications, and customers (4) Establishing market relevance in target markets and validating value propositions (5) Development and implementation of growth objective lead generation programs (6) Identify business blind spots and develop proactive strategies (7) Proactively manage a pipeline of prospects and opportunities to influence and promote sales results.

The individual must demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively multi-tasking as well as supporting and participating as a member of the Commercial Leadership team responsible for developing and deploying a business growth strategy.

Essential Functions:
  1. A disruptive and progressive thinker with strong analytical skills and is data-driven and able to derive insights from data
  2. Effective at translating science and technology into business and understands the rigor required in a regulatory environment
  3. Translates insight to action efficiently and articulates value effectively
  4. Has relevant functional depth in marketing, business development, and sales to be able to effectively develop the opportunity pipeline and support closing deals
  5. Develop and execute a sales strategy that aligns with the overall business strategy
  6. Ability to prioritize and execute on the critical items
  7. Has experience with channels to market (OEMs, engineering integrators, International Sales Channel Partners) and understands the need to deliver value across the value chain with the ultimate customer as the end-user
  8. Commercially savvy and brings strong problem-solving skills
  9. Has effectively collaborated with teams, shares learnings, and pivots when needed based on insights
  10. Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
  11. Provide input to product management that helps define and quantify new markets, applications, product features, and competitive intel
  12. Coordinate efforts with sales, presales, and marketing teams to drive business opportunities
  13. Passionate about keeping the customer at the center and sees this as a critical discipline
  14. Identify unmet customer needs for all PTI’s inspection solutions
  15. Excellent written and oral communication along with listening skills
  16. Strong working knowledge of CRM solutions
  17. Domestic and International Travel: Annual average 25%
  18. Salary Exempt position – Hours over 40 per week can be expected.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  1. Business degree required, MBA is a benefit
  2. 10 + years experience in marketing, business development, sales
  3. 5 + years of Life Sciences experience and network required
  4. Life Science Packaging experience a plus (Medical Device, Bio-Tech, Etc.)
  5. Must have demonstrated performance in customer satisfaction, process optimization, and results target selling
  6. Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  7. Proven ability to drive the sales/business process from plan to close
  8. Excellent listening, communicator, and presentation skills
  9. Good computer application skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Measurable Accountabilities:
  1. Define ‘where to play’ strategy
  2. Strategic relationship management
  3. Identify and develop channel partnerships
  4. Identify and develop new market opportunities
  5. Develop Lead Generation program revenue
  6. Generate incremental sales growth
